Palmer is very involved in professional counselor organizations. Palmer served nearly 30 years in the NJ Army National Guard, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel. Afterward teaching, he worked as a school counselor in a variety of settings and grades: Blue Ribbon high schools, elementary-middle school, and at-risk youth programs. Palmer entered the educational profession as a high school business teacher for seven years. After nearly 15 years working in the private industry, Mr. He also completed graduate coursework to earn his Substance Awareness Coordinator (SAC) certificate from Stockton. He later went on to earn MA degrees in Student Personnel Services and School Administration from Rowan University. Palmer completed his BA in Communications from Rowan University and a BA in Business Studies from Stockton University. Her children graduated Erica (WTHS 2001), Justin (GCIT 2006), Patrick (WTHS 2008), John (WTHS 2012), Melanie (WTHS 2014), and Joe (WTHS 2015). Eckert-Carpenter enjoys spending time with her husband and six children. Eckert-Carpenter began her career as a school counselor at WTHS in 1992. Eckert-Carpenter also taught for the Department of Defense Schools Camp Lejeune, NC. Eckert-Carpenter has coached girls’ soccer, field hockey and softball at WTHS. In 1984, she was hired by the Washington Township School District as a Health and Physical Education teacher at WTHS. She taught at Lenape High School and coached field hockey at Pennsbury High School. Eckert-Carpenter began her teaching/coaching career in 1983. She also received her Master of Arts Degree in Student Personnel Services from Rowan University, and a Master of Education in School Leadership from Wilmington University. Eckert-Carpenter received her Bachelor of Science degree in Health and Physical Education from East Stroudsburg University. In her free time, Ms. Czar has worked as a certified high school counselor since 2015 in both Camden, NJ and Upper Darby, PA and has a great passion for empowering students to reach their full potential. After furthering her work in the community setting, she attended Rowan University for graduate school where she received her Master of Arts in Counseling in Educational Settings and her Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Czar completed a year of public service with an AmeriCorps program servicing youth in the justice system which inspired her to pursue a career working with youth and families. Following her undergraduate education, Ms. Czar received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy (pre-law) from Villanova University where she swam competitively on the division 1 level. According to the Federal Regulation (42 CFR Part 2), the SAC and School Counselor cannot disclose confidential student information related to substance abuse without the permission of the student. Under the Multi-Tiered System of Supports, direct SAC services include: school-wide activities, classroom lessons, individual or group sessions, referral to resources. Our SAC is an additional school counseling department member to assist students with substance abuse prevention/intervention strategies and programs including, at times, social/emotional development.
